Each Threshold Ward is made by hand within an embroidery hoop, combining natural fibres, gathered botanicals and small found or symbolic elements chosen with its intention in mind. The design is finished with knotwork, stitching and other details, creating a piece that feels as though it might have been hanging in an old cottage for generations.

Traditionally, thresholds have held a particular place in European folk traditions. Doors and windows were boundaries to be watched, marked and protected. This piece takes inspiration from those old household customs and brings them into the modern home.
